Is there a way to increase or decrease the volume and/or brightness on a Macbook Pro in smaller increments than the default 16 dots?

Yup, there sure is! Here’s how to do it.

Hold down the OPTION + SHIFT keys while pressing the brightness or volume buttons on the keyboard. You’ll then see that the white filled in area will lessen or increase in multiples of 4 for each box.
